Welcome to Day 9 of #FeelGoodFebruary!
EXPLORE
So yesterday you discovered, today you’re going to explore. It’s time to explore your ‘self’ – to do this you’re going to need to open your mind. Grab some post-it notes and a pen, and go and stand in front of a mirror. Usually when faced with our reflections, we focus on the negative things about ourselves. Now, these aren’t going to go away overnight, but it’s important to explore the possibility that you can change the way that you see yourself. So, let yourself focus on the negatives, acknowledge them and write them down on a post-it note. For example, you might write something like ‘my tummy is too big’. Now, I want you to re-look at this part of your body and write something nice about it – so your sentence might look something like this: ‘My tummy is too big, but the skin there is soft’. This is not about eliminating body image issues, but learning how to re-think and re-learn the relationship with your body and how you can grow it into a positive thing.
Top tip – once you’ve written your post-it notes (as many as you want), stick them to your mirror so that you can see daily positive affirmations any time you glance at your reflection.
